Dynamic Sky & Skybox Renderer

SKY2BOX

Generate physically-based skyboxes for any time, date, and place, then export them.

About

Dial in a location and time and it renders a real-time atmosphere with an astronomically accurate sun, moon, and star field, plus volumetric clouds, then captures it to a cubemap or 360 panorama.

Key features

  • Physically-based atmosphere — raymarched Rayleigh, Mie and ozone scattering gives accurate day, golden-hour, twilight, and night, driven by the real sun position for your date, time, and coordinates (city presets included).
  • Accurate celestial bodies — sun and moon on their correct arcs, a textured 3D moon with real phases and rotation control, 8,900+ real stars from the HYG catalog, and an optional Milky Way band.
  • Volumetric clouds — three cloud engines (Raymarched, plus SDF and Voxel in beta), cloud-type presets from cumulus through cumulonimbus that genuinely reshape the density field, weather presets (Fair / Cloudy / Overcast / Storm), and sky-driven lighting so clouds glow at sunset and catch moonlight at night.
  • Build other planets — world presets for Earth, Mars, Titan, red dwarf, violet, green and airless skies, with every scattering coefficient exposed: sky colour, air density and falloff, Mie glow, ozone, planet size, and ground colour.
  • Full art control — exposure, tonemapping (Filmic / ACES / AgX), haze, sun/star/cloud lighting, moon size, cloud coverage, density, detail, height, thickness and scale, plus camera field of view.
  • Animate the day — scrub time of day or auto-advance it at up to 60× to find the exact light you want.
  • Export skyboxes — horizontal-cross cubemap and equirectangular 360 PNGs, up to 2048 per face, with 2× supersampled anti-aliasing and full edge bleed so no seams or dark halos survive filtering. Write straight to a remembered folder, or grab a zip.
  • Save your looks — name and reload full sky setups, share them as .json, and pick up where you left off; the last session restores automatically.
  • WebGPU-powered — runs entirely on WebGPU for smooth, high-quality real-time preview, fully offline with no network calls.

How it works

Set date, time, and location, shape the atmosphere, world and clouds, capture, and export the cubemap and/or 360.
